Gene Colan was one of the mainstays in comic book art in the Silver Age. He worked on Batman, Daredevil, Iron Man, Howard the Duck — pretty much everything. He was best known for his atmospheric, gothic style that so suited the Dracula comics Marvel published in the ’70s. He also co-created Blade the vampire slayer.
Of course, I best remember Colan for his work on The Avengers. He drew one of my favorite Hawkeye covers, even though Clint wasn’t Hawkeye at the time.
